Description
The Moss Wall workshop brings colorful elements and varied textures from the natural world into the hands of our Creators. Giving Makers the opportunity to hold, manipulate, arrange, and design elements to create something beautiful will develop in them an appreciation for nature. We want to encourage students to have a sensitivity to the natural elements, which are readily accessible around them and are excellent for fostering curiosity and wonder. Additionally, by interacting with nature, students can recognize the positive feelings they experience (biophilia effect).
The Moss Wall display will be an excellent reminder of nature’s beauty and the role students can play in bringing this beauty to the forefront for others to appreciate.
In this workshop, children will learn about the oldest plant on the earth, moss! Creators will discuss living and preserved moss and learn about plantscaping. They will sketch and design their moss wall and discuss the biophilia effect. Makers are encouraged to include additional preserved nature elements in their design, and forage for local elements if possible! CURRICULUM IS SOLD SEPARATELY. Be sure to also add it to your cart.
