Test Classroom
Paper Seed Pods Curriculum
In this workshop, Makers will learn about recycling and the science behind paper. They will compile paper scraps and convert them into a malleable pulp which they will then form into a bookmark. Once they have mastered the pulp process, they will also incorporate seeds into the pulp and mold their pulp into shapes that will become seed pods that can be planted or gifted. These workshops will give Makers hands-on experience in understanding the various forms that paper can take. They will participate in a practical recycling project that demonstrates how used material can be reused in different ways. The kit provides enough supplies to create endless amounts of paper seed pods - just supply the paper! The curriculum covers the importance of recycling and the impact it can have on our world. It also reviews some basic planting techniques, prompts students to think about where we see recycling in other areas, and introduces some cool facts related to recycling. There are extension activities for additional learning. Main Vocab Words: Recycling, Pulp Each kit is designed for one student over 2, one-hour classes. Subject: BiologyAges: 4-10 KITS ARE SOLD SEPARATELY. Be sure to also add one kit for each child to your cart.

Gear Workshop Curriculum
Gears are among the best STEM learning toys for young children to use to encourage creative problem-solving, spark recognition and understanding of cause and effect, and so much more...all things that young engineers need to learn! In this Workshop, Makers will manipulate gears, observe how they interlock, learn about torque and how it is used to turn gears, and arrange the gears on their board to make an interactive display. They will explore how simple machines like the wheel and axle in the gear mechanism illustrate leverage. Makers will see how the difference in size changes the way the gear train works, either generating more force, or more speed. They will apply math concepts to what they have observed with ratios. And finally, Makers will examine how these concepts apply to real life, as they identify gears and simple or complex machines in their environments. The curriculum contains facilitator instructions, discussion questions, vocabulary words, history and uses of gears, extended discussions, and other activities. Main Vocab Words: Simple Machines, Gears Each kit is designed for one student over 2, one-hour classes. Subject: TechnologyAges: 4-10 KITS ARE SOLD SEPARATELY. Be sure to also add one kit for each child to your cart.

Cloud Putty Workshop Curriculum
In this workshop, Makers will learn about chemical reactions and the viscosity of a fluid. Makers will practice following a recipe and observing how the various ingredients affect their compound. They will use their hands to measure, mix, and knead, creating scented cloud putty. They will design, develop, and manufacture their own unique Cloud Putty while observing the chemical reaction as the mixture transforms from a liquid to a non-Newtonian fluid. Using our Kitoodle scents and colors, Makers will explore a variety of ways to make their products unique. Through this workshop, they will hone their entrepreneurial skills explore the process of planning, creating, and modifying an item, and then packaging the finished product that can be used or shared. The curriculum provides lessons in basic chemistry, including liquids, solids, chemical reactions, and viscosity. There are additional fun facts, discussion questions, and extension activities.Main Vocab Word: Viscosity Each kit is designed for one student over 2, one-hour classes. Subject: ChemistryAges: 3-10 KITS ARE SOLD SEPARATELY. Be sure to also add one kit for each student.

PVC Pipe Curriculum
In this workshop, Makers will learn about tinkering, building and engineering using PVC pipes. Creators will learn about PVC and a brief history of its use in manufacturing. They will Tinker with the materials, imagining fantastic creations as they familiarize themselves with the various fittings. Creators will Build a form with their pipes, using the included idea sheet as a guide. Finally, they will use their pipes to Engineer a fully functioning Air Propulsion Launcher! Afterwards, Creators explore the topic of physics, as they figure out how to make their marshmallows fly! They will learn all about Propulsion as they launch various projectiles to see what materials fly the farthest. This workshop is a fun exploration of Engineering! Main Vocab Words: Tinker, Build, Engineer Each kit is designed for one student over 2, one-hour classes. Subject: EngineeringAges: 4-10 KITS ARE SOLD SEPARATELY. Be sure to also add one kit for each child to your cart.
